Nominations are now open for the 2020 Wise Profession Panel and Keynote Speaker!

OWHE would like to hear from our members and conference attendees on who they would like to recognize and hear from for the 2020 OWHE Annual Conference's Wise Professionals Panel and keynote speaker. This is an opportunity to nominate colleagues from your institution (or fellow organizations, including outside of higher ed) so we can all learn from them. We encourage self-nominations too! **Nominations close Friday October 18th at midnight**
If you have any questions, please contact McKenzie and Brenna at conference@owhe.org

Panelists have traditionally been higher ed professionals whose journeys can be a point of inspiration for conference attendees. Questions/topics have centered around community, their own personal career paths, thriving as an underrepresented professional, the annual theme, and/or questions of advice from the audience. The format has generally been 5-8 panelists quickly introducing themselves and then responding to questions.

Keynote speakers kick off the conference with inspiration and energy in a way that relates to our theme and/or OWHE mission and values.

This year, our theme will be From Me to We. While the OWHE mission and values have always strongly supported connection and community, this year’s theme of “From Me to We” represents a focus on how OWHE's educational offerings and organizational actions will center justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). OWHE acknowledges white supremacy and systems of oppression have been ingrained in the foundation of higher education. We are committed to dismantling these systems through professional development and advancement opportunities for all members. “From Me to We” is a call to celebrate and uplift the diversity of voice in this state and organization, while calling for equitable inclusion of all intersectional identities.
